MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – On September 10, 2024 at approximately 6:45 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a vehicle fire in the 29000 block of Three Notch Road at New Market Village Road. Callers stated to 911 dispatch they saw flames and a bunch of black smoke.
Crews arrived to find a 3000 gallon oil tanker on fire threatening a structure. Firefighters quickly had the fire under control and contained oil spills. No injuries have been reported.
Hazmat crews were requested to the scene to assist with clean up.
