Washington, DCย โ High in a tree at the National Arboretum, there’s a new baby eaglet.
The eaglet began the hatching process on Wednesday, March 16 around 7:30 p.m. and made its way into the world Friday morning at 8:27.
The Bald Eagles known as the First Lady and Mr. President are the first nesting pair of bald eagles in D.C. since 1947.
The First Lady laid two eggs in February.
The second egg has not starting hatching yet.
Unlike labor and delivery, mom and dad don’t help the eaglet break free. It’s the first step in the survival of the fittest.
