CROFTON, Md. — A tragic two-vehicle collision in Crofton, Maryland, resulted in one fatality and one injury on Saturday night.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the incident occurred on November 2, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m. in the area of northbound Crain Highway at Johns Hopkins Road. A 2023 Hyundai Sonata rear-ended a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound, causing the Hyundai to veer off the road.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 25-year-old Thomas Wilson Swick of Odenton, was pronounced dead at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel. The Jeep’s driver, a 25-year-old male from Laurel, sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The AACPD Traffic Safety Section has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
