LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A stabbing incident in Lexington Park on Feb. 25, 2026, left a victim airlifted with multiple stab wounds and resulted in first-degree assault charges against a 29-year-old man now held without bond. Authorities allege the suspect fled the scene before being located nearby.
According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the report of an assault in Lexington Park on Feb. 25, 2026. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a victim who was covered in blood and suffering from a two-inch laceration across the right arm.
Court records indicate deputies applied a tourniquet to the victim’s right arm to control bleeding. Authorities reported that the victim also sustained two additional stab wounds, one to the left thigh and another to the left forearm. The victim advised deputies that he had been stabbed by Austin Timothy Kemp Blackburn, 29, of Lexington Park.
According to charging documents, Blackburn allegedly fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. The victim was transported by helicopter to Capital Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Investigators allege Blackburn stated that he had been arguing with the victim and did not remember what occurred until he ran out of the residence holding a metal object. Authorities allege he discarded the object by throwing it into a drainage pipe.

Court records indicate Blackburn is being held without bond pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 24, 2026, in the District Court of Maryland for St. Mary’s County.
