Deputies, including Deputy Hill, responded to separate incidents involving fraudulent bills passed during cookie sales, officials said. The exact locations and number of booths affected were not immediately disclosed.
Law enforcement is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The sheriff’s office provided tips for identifying counterfeit bills, including checking for raised printing, color-shifting ink, and security watermarks.
