ย On Jan. 4, St. Maryโ€™s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) detectives arrested and charged Christopher Allen Williams, 18, of Mechanicsville, after a search warrant was conducted at his residence with assistance from Charles County law officers.

ย BCI Commander Lt. Rick Burris told The Bay Net that Williams was wanted for a burglary that occurred on South Sandgates Road in Mechanicsville at approximately 5 p.m. Nov. 18.

ย Burris alleges that Williams entered a residence through and unsecured door and removed several guns from a gun safe and fled the residence. Detectives do not believe he had any relationship to the victim.

ย Charles County officers cooperated in the search warrant at Williamsโ€™ residence on Jan. 4 because Charles detectives have Williams as a suspect in at least one burglary in that county, Burris confirmed.

ย Charles officials have not yet charged Williams with any crime.

ย During the search warrant execution, police located a sawed-off shot gun in Williams residence.

ย He was charged with with one count of Burglary First Degree, one count of Theft over $500, one count of Theft under $500 and one count of Possession of an Altered Shotgun.

ย Williams was being held in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center on $75.000 bond.
