WALDORF, Md. — An Oxon Hill man is facing charges after an incident at a retail store in Waldorf where he was accused of exposing himself and assaulting a customer, according to court documents.

Cory Rashid Simpson, 34, of Oxon Hill, was arrested April 11, 2026, following a disturbance at the T.J. Maxx located on Festival Way.

Officers responded to reports of a man inside the store harassing customers. According to charging documents, a witness reported observing Simpson exposing himself in the shoe section of the store.

A second individual told police she was shopping when she felt someone touch her buttocks and later identified Simpson as the person behind her.

Officers made contact with Simpson at the front of the store, where he stated he was waiting for a ride. During the investigation, Simpson denied intentionally exposing himself, telling officers his pants may have fallen due to his hands being full and items weighing them down.

Following witness statements, Simpson was taken into custody and transported to the Charles County Detention Center.

He has been charged with second-degree assault and indecent exposure and was released on his own recognizance.

A trial scheduling hearing is set for June 16, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
