Recently at Dream Weaver Cafe, the Dining in the Field 2019 committee celebrated a successful fundraiser. Dining in the Field is an annual event put on by a group of volunteers led this year by Sue Dzurec and Trish Weaver to celebrate local chefs, farmers, watermen, vitners, distillers and other producers from the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

This year the recipient of the fundraiser was Future Farmers of America and the financial coordinator for the event was Calvert Farmland Trust. The event was held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Jennifer and Jimmy Dowell’s farm, Tyverne Creek Farm.

In the photo, Calvert Farmland Trust President Wilson Freeland presents a check for $5,674 to Future Farmers of America President Emily Sears.  Pictured are Chef Michael Benson (owner of Heritage 485), Sue Dzurec, Wilson Freeland, Emily Sears, Sophia Goins, Kaitlyn Cosgrove, Grace Miller, Kaitlin Russell and Dream Weaver owner and chef Trish Weaver.

Committee members not pictured are Tracy Arter, Peter Baker, Jennifer Dowell, Jimmy Dowell, Diane Shimansky, and Robyn Truslow.
