MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Dixon Family Farm will host its first Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, bringing a mix of family activities, entertainment, and fall traditions to Southern Maryland.

The festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. at the farm on South Sandgates Road, offering a mix of classic fall fun and unique farm experiences. Visitors can expect a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treat trail, bounce house, cookie decorating, and face painting for kids, along with axe throwing and live music for adults.

Entertainment will include juggling and magic shows by Crickett, a former Ringling Bros. performer, and a performance by The Knuckle Dusters, a nationally known group specializing in vintage American music.

Beyond the festivities, the Dixon Family Farm Shop will be open, featuring handmade soaps, oils, and other goods crafted from botanicals grown on the property. Farm talks and a beekeeper presentation will give guests a chance to learn more about the century-old farm’s history and regenerative practices.

Tickets are required, and more information is available at the Dixon Family Farm website.

The Dixon family has operated the Mechanicsville property since 1881 and is recognized as a Maryland Century Farm. Today, the farm produces lavender, wine grapes, herbs, vegetables, and pumpkins.
