On April 5 at 12:18 a.m. DFC Shawn Morder conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation in the area of 8th Street and Frederick Avenue in North Beach.
DFC Todd Smith and his narcotic canine responded to the scene to conduct a scan of the vehicle.
The dog alerted to a packet containing suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Christopher M. Smith, 19, of Chesapeake Beach, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
There were four passengers in the vehicle as well, three of whom were juveniles. Additional charges are pending.
