On June 29, 2011, officers responded to an armed robbery at the Papa Johns Pizza located on Three Notch Rd. in Hollywood, Maryland. Upon arriving at the business it was learned that an employee was approached by a man with a gun demanding money. The employee provided an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled on foot to a waiting vehicle. Patrol officers attempts to locate the persons involved were not successful. BCI detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
On July 11, 2011, BCI Detectives with assistance from the Calvert Investigative Team (CIT) and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team (SOT) served several search and seizure warrants in Calvert County, Maryland. During the investigation Steven Edward Garner, age 21 of St. Leonard, Maryland and Robert Michael Morris, age 33 of Huntingtown, MD were identified as the persons who committed the robbery. Morris and Garner were charged with Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Additional charges are pending a review with the State’s Attorney’s Office. Morris and Garner are currently being held in the St. Mary’s Detention Center on no bond.
