DRAYDEN, Md. — On July 5, 2025, a man was tragically killed in Drayden, Maryland, after a tree reportedly fell on top of him. The incident occurred around 10:36 p.m. in the 18400 block of Elmos Way, a rural stretch off Drayden Road, roughly a mile from the victim’s residence, according to dispatch and local sources.

First responders from multiple municipalities were dispatched under a cardiac/respiratory arrest call. The notes confirmed the nature of the call as a farming accident involving traumatic impact from a falling tree.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found the victim unresponsive beneath the fallen tree. Despite lifesaving efforts, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Due to the remote location and severity of the trauma, rapid response coordination was logged across multiple channels, though a medevac was not ultimately launched.

As of Sunday morning, no further details have been released regarding the man’s identity. The incident remains under review, and it’s unclear whether the tree was being felled deliberately as part of agricultural work or if it came down due to environmental factors such as storm impact or decay.

St. Mary’s County authorities have not yet indicated whether OSHA or other regulatory agencies will be involved in the follow-up.
