At 11:45 p.m. Dec. 9, Terrence Llewelyn Mason, 43, of Morganza was arrested by TFC J. Linger for 2nd Degree Assault, possession of Cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Mason was operating a green Nissan Sentra on Route 235 at Route 245 in Hollywood when he was stopped for not being restrained by his seat belt.
While TFC Linger was speaking with Mason during the traffic stop, Mason put the vehicle in gear and fled almost hitting TFC Linger. TFC Linger pursued Mason and he refused to stop.
Other Troopers responded to assist TFC Linger. Tpr. C. Evans deployed “stop sticks” on Route 245 at McIntosh Road in Hollywood. Mason’s vehicle struck the stop sticks and the vehicle stopped a short distance later.
He was taken into custody and a search incident to arrest revealed Mason was in possession of Cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.
