CROFTON, Md. — A man was killed Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash along Crain Highway in the Crofton area.
Emergency personnel were called at approximately 7:40 p.m. Dec. 31, 2025, to Crain Highway North at Defense Highway, where they found a 2020 Dodge pickup truck that had left the roadway and struck a pole in the center lane before coming to rest.
Fire department personnel responded and pronounced the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, deceased at the scene.
The driver was identified as John Raymond Nicholson, 57, of Laurel. The Anne Arundel County Police Department Traffic Safety Crash Team responded to conduct an investigation into the crash.
