Authorities in St. Mary’s County are currently investigating a motor vehicle accident in Lexington Park.
Rescue crews responded to the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in front of the McDonald’s Restaurant around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 16 for report of a pedestrian struck.
Upon arrival it was discovered that a single vehicle with a single occupant was travelling on Great Mills Road, when the driver for unknown reasons lost control and left the roadway and ended up in the landscaping in front of the McDonald’s. No pedestrian was actually struck.
The driver was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.
No word on the cause of the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
