On New Year’s Eve the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division conducted county wide Driving While Intoxicated Saturation Patrols. The purpose of saturation patrols is to reduce impaired drivers on the roadway and create safer roads for the community.
As a result of the saturation patrols, deputies issued eleven (11) citations, four (4) warnings and three (3) Safety Equipment Repair Orders.
Cpl. James Stone arrested Gale Lynn St. John, 45 of Lexington Park, Maryland for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. A probable cause search, incident to her arrest, revealed she was in possession of suspected marijuana and smoking device containing suspected marijuana residue.
