On April 21, at 1:09 a.m., Deputy S. Ruest and Deputy H. Adams responded to a residence in Mechanicsville, for the report of a disturbance.
Contact was made with Francis W. Bridgett, 45 of Mechanicsville, who was extremely intoxicated and acting in a disorderly manner. As Bridgett retreated to a back bedroom of the residence he struck Deputy Ruest in the stomach. A short struggle ensued and Bridgett was taken into custody, charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and incarcerated in the Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
