On Dec. 27, Deputy D Harris responded to a residence on Three Notch Road in Lexington Park to investigate a telephone misuse complaint.
Ralph Arthur Tawney, Jr., 50 of Lexington Park, had called the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office and 911 a total of 9 times in a 2 ½ hour period to report “illegal activity” which was not in progress. Tawney’s complaint and information was taken and Tawney was told that his information would be investigated.
Deputy Harris made contact with Tawney, who appeared to be intoxicated. Deputy Harris also told Tawney that his complaint would be investigated and instructed Tawney not to call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office any further unless he had another crime to report. Approximately 30 minutes after Deputy Harris left Tawney’s residence, Tawney called 911 again regarding his previous reported suspicious activity.
Deputy Harris responded by to Tawney’s residence and arrested him for telephone misuse.
