States Attorney Richard Fritz announces that the Grand Jury of St. Mary’s County on March 17, returned 35 criminal indictments against 18 individuals from Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Counties for drug related offenses.
These indictments arise from an ongoing investigation conducted over the past year by Sheriff and State Police narcotic officers. States Attorney Fritz has indicated that nearly all of the returned indictments charge criminal offenses for the distribution of cocaine or oxycodone.
A conviction of the crime for distribution of cocaine or oxycodone is a felony that carries a possible sentence of 20 years incarceration. The names of the individuals are being held pending the service of arrest warrants
