It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evan Leo Perisho on October 16, 2025 at the age of 100. Evan was born in Martinsville, IL on November 22, 1924 to Golden and Tina Perisho.
Evan grew up on a farm in Martinsville, IL, where he developed a love for farming and building. His sisters often asked him to construct a dollhouse and beds for their dolls, believing he could build anything. As a young man, in 1943, he enlisted in the Navy and was deployed on the Intrepid aircraft carrier until the end of World War II, serving as a Seaman First Class during his service. After moving to St. Maryโs, he took a job building houses with Jack Daughty, then began constructing apartments for himself. He also worked for the state highway department, contributing to many roads still in use today, and worked as a building inspector during the Veterans Home construction in Charlotte Hall. Last year, he spent two exciting weeks there.
He later married Reba Rogers, and they raised three children. After Rebaโs passing in 1988, Evan unexpectedly found love again, marrying Sharon Jones in 1989. They have been together for the past 36 years.
Evan learned the Truth and was baptized in 1960, serving as an Elder for over 55 years. He had a deep love for Jehovah and his congregation, always ensuring sisters and their families had rides to the hall. He contributed significantly to building many Kingdom Halls in the area, excelling in brickwork. The Brothers and Sisters cherished his insights and experiences.
He was predeceased by his parents, Golden and Tina; his brother: Dean; his sisters: Opal, Ruby, Olive and Hazel; his first wife, Reba; and grandson, Ronald.
Evan leaves behind his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Rogina Smith of Lexington Park, MD; his sons: David Perisho of Lexington Park, MD, and Cary Perisho of West Virigina; stepchildren: Kelly Harris (Joe) of Dunkirk, MD, and Mark Jomes, Jr. (Sheryl); of Lexington Park, MD, grandchildren: Clayton, Zachary, Julianne, Dylan, Courtney, Joey and Whitney; a sister, Betty (Nick); a brother, Carrol (Sherry); and many other family members and close friends. He lived a full life, leaves countless memories and a legacy of fine works that will be cherished forever.
