PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Parents and community members are invited to a countywide educational event on Monday, May 19, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m., in the auditorium at Calvert High School, 520 Fox Run Blvd., Prince Frederick. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Titled “Experts Discuss Harmful Effects of Vaping on Youth,” this free presentation will address the impact of vaping nicotine and THC on adolescents, cannabis laws affecting youth, and effective ways to talk with teens about substance use. A question-and-answer session will follow the panel.

Featured guest speakers include:

  • Dr. Panagis Galiatsatos, pulmonologist, Johns Hopkins Medicine
  • Ms. Carver, attorney, Legal Resource Center at the University of Maryland
  • Ms. Phillips, parent advocate

The event will also include resource tables and complimentary food for attendees.

This program is presented in collaboration with the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners, Calvert County Public Schools, CalvertHealth Medical Center, and the Calvert County Health Department, and is funded by the Cigarette Restitution Fund of Maryland.
