Fake Name Given to Officer at Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest

On January 20, Dfc. W. Watters conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge truck for exceeding the posted speed limit. 

The driver initially provided the deputy with a false name.  When the name could not be verified through the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles, Dfc. Watters had the Emergency Communications Center contact the owner of the vehicle.  The owner of the truck told ECC that Antwon Delente Butler, 20 of Valley Lee, was in possession of his truck. 

A local check of Butler produced a photograph which matched the driver of the truck.  Butler was arrested and charged with hindering and false statement to a police officer.
