
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The victim is 19-year-old Stefan Groves of Upper Marlboro.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random incident.
On October 30, 2024, at approximately 12:00 pm, officers responded to the 13300 block of Burleigh Street for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
