On May 17 at 4 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Indian Head Rail Trail near Parker Harley Place in Indian Head for the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed the victim, 24, was jogging on the trail when an unknown suspect ran up behind her and pushed her to the ground. The victim fought off the assailant and he fled into the woods. Officers responded immediately and canvassed the area. The victim did not get a good look at her attacker and it’s unclear what the motive was.
