PORT TOBACCO, Md., โ Firefighters responded Friday afternoon to a shed fire in Port Tobacco that quickly consumed the structure and sent smoke across the neighborhood. Emergency crews were dispatched around 2:44 p.m. to the 8200 block of Wooddy Road, where a caller reported the shed ablaze behind a residence.
Multiple Charles County fire units arrived to find the shed fully engulfed, with crews from multiple companies working together to bring the blaze under control. Emergency traffic communications indicated that water was shuttled from drop tanks and at least one engine was repositioned during the operation due to tight access around the structure.
Firefighters declared the fire out around 3:48 p.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
