WALDORF, Md. – On May 22, 2024, at approximately 9:50 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a multiple vehicle fire in the area of Old Washington Road. The incident took place at Mega Imports Auto Sales, but fortunately, there was no fire damage to the business itself, only to the vehicles on the lot.
Crews from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene to find multiple vehicles ablaze. Firefighters worked quickly to control the fire, initially discovered by a neighbor, bringing it under control within 20 minutes. A total of 12 vehicles and 1 trailer were damaged.
One firefighter sustained non-life-threatening heat-related injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The estimated loss from the fire is $70,000, according to the fire marshal’s press release. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
