MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Firefighters battled a blaze in a vacant mobile home in the woods off Loveville Road in Mechanicsville after multiple callers reported seeing a house on fire Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 25, 2025.

The fire was reported at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the 26400 block of Loveville Road, near the intersection with Three Notch Road and Old Red Oak Lane. Callers told dispatchers the structure sat back in the woods on the right side of the road and appeared to be on fire.

Initial arriving units reported a vacant mobile home “fully involved” in flames. Engines, tankers and support units from multiple area companies were sent to the scene, and one engine was reported laying hose along Three Notch Road and Loveville Road to establish a water supply. Around 5:30 p.m., crews reported the fire out and continued working to hit hot spots.

Loveville Road in the area of Three Notch Road will be shut down for an extended period of time due to fire department activity.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal was notified and requested to the scene.
