MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Firefighters responded early Friday morning to a structure fire in the 39600 block of Harpers Corner Road in Mechanicsville.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 2:41 a.m. on March 13, 2026. Upon arrival, firefighters located two single-wide trailers that had been connected together, with fire showing from the rear trailer.

Firefighters encountered significant hoarding conditions throughout the structure, which made fire attack and search operations more challenging.

Crews brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Primary and secondary searches were conducted and confirmed no occupants were inside the structure.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters remained on scene for nearly two hours performing overhaul operations before returning to service.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
