SUNDERLAND, Md. — Firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire Saturday afternoon at a home in the Federal Oak Estates neighborhood in Sunderland.
The fire was reported around 4:30 p.m. on May 23, 2026, in the 6100 block of Federal Oak Drive. Initial dispatch information indicated a hallway smoke alarm activation, with additional alarms later received from the home.
Engine 62 arrived and reported a two-story single-family home with a basement and nothing showing from the exterior. Crews later found a fire in the kitchen.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and reported no extension.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
