At 11:15 a.m. July 28, St. Leonard Fire and Rescue was notified of a structural collapse with man trapped at a residence off of Ball Road.

Upon arrival it was discovered that a 42-year-old male was working on a second floor setting roof trusses when the newly constructed truss collapsed on top of the man, St. Leonard Volunteers report.

Ambulance 79, Squad 7, Engine 71, Prince Frederick Tower 2 and Trooper 7 were dispatched.

Fire Sgt J. Gryskewicz took command at the scene and quickly freed the patient, who was boarded and extricated from the second floor construction area.

Ambulance 79 transported patient to CMH for treatment.
