County commissioners have issued a proclamation designating September 2008 as Forget-Me-Not month in Charles County It will be a time to remember and support those

Memorial Chapter 36 of Disabled 
American Veterans. 

who have fought for our country in military service.  The commissioners praised the local Disabled American Veterans chapter for their efforts to help local disabled veterans. 

The Commissioners also gave special recognition to Chaplain Marie M.Halter, who DAV named it’s 2008 Veteran of the Year for Maryland. 

Halter is a Waldorf resident and has been a member of the John C. DeMarr Jr. Memorial Chapter 36 for 25 years and served as its only female commander from 1993 to 1997.
