WALDORF, Md. – Former NFL standout and Super Bowl 50 champion Vernon Davis is making bold strides into a new arena – this time, trading the gridiron for the gallop. Davis has officially entered the world of equestrian sport as co-founder and CEO of DHG Equestrian, a full-service facility where passion for horses meets excellence in training and care.
Located on 25 sprawling acres in the heart of Waldorf, Maryland, DHG Equestrian brings a bold vision rooted in discipline, purpose, and passion – principles that fueled Davis’s storied football career and now guides his efforts to reimagine the world of horseback riding. With a focus on rider education and premier boarding, DHG looks to cultivate a community-focused environment while inspiring a lifelong passion for riding.
“As an athlete, I’ve always believed in the power of physical connection, mental strength, and dedication. The equestrian world embodies all those values and more,” said Davis. “With DHG Equestrian, we’re inspiring and empowering riders of all ages and backgrounds through access, education, and elite horsemanship. Whether it’s a young rider chasing competitive dreams or a family discovering the joy of horses, our doors are open.”
At the core DHG Equestrian’s mission is a commitment to nurturing a harmonious relationship between horse and rider through exceptional care, expert training, and enriching experiences. The facility provides a safe, inclusive environment with top-notch boarding services, personalized training, and comprehensive lessons. DHG is also dedicated to providing ethical, compassionate care, treating every horse with kindness and respect.

For Davis, DHG Equestrian is more than just a business venture – it’s a deeply personal tribute to his late brother, Vontae. Guided by his memory, the brand is dedicated to fostering healing, empowerment, and personal growth through the transformative power of the equestrian experience.
“As I step into the equestrian world, I do so with Vontae in my heart,” Davis said. “He was a quiet force – disciplined, thoughtful, and deeply committed to personal growth. DHG is a tribute to that energy and a way to honor his legacy and share that spirit with others. It’s a space for healing, for learning, and for discovering what’s possible when you build trust – between horse and rider, and within yourself.”
