ANNAPOLIS, Md. – On September 3, Governor Larry Hogan visited the 140th Maryland State Fair in Timonium and spoke to farmers and producers at the annual Ag Day Luncheon.

โ€œFar too often, our farmers donโ€™t get the respect or appreciation that they deserve, but I want our entire Ag community to know that your commitment to our state, and to our Ag industry, does not go unappreciated,โ€ said Governor Hogan. โ€œYour drive, character, work ethic, and resilience during tough times has been an inspiration to me and is so important to all Marylanders.โ€

The Maryland State Fair makes its return this year after being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last May, the fairgrounds were converted into one of the stateโ€™s first drive-thru COVID-19 testing facilities.

During the Ag Day Luncheon, Governor Hogan highlighted efforts to support Maryland farmers and producers. The state has provided nearly $5 million to over 1,300 farm families through the Maryland Farmer COVID-19 Relief Program.

Marylandโ€™s GoVAX Mobile Summer Tour is providing vaccinations to fair visitors through Sept. 6. The vaccination clinic is located in the Exhibition Hall and will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day.
