PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County Parks and Recreation is exploring updates to the fencing layout at Grays Road Dog Park in Prince Frederick, according to a Facebook post by Parks & Recreation.
Currently, the park features four uniquely shaped areas without specific uses. Possible improvements include separate areas for small dogs, all dogs and a dedicated “chill zone.” The county is seeking input from residents to better understand how residents and their dogs use the park to gather the best possible feedback to help shape the future of this dog park and decide on future amenities.
“Your voice is critical in shaping the future of Grays Road Dog Park, and we are committed to incorporating public feedback into the decision-making process. By participating in an upcoming survey, you’ll help us gauge community interest in creating a more functional and inclusive space for dogs of all energy levels and sizes,” Parks and Recreation wrote on its website.
The department said it aims to enhance the overall experience for dogs and their owners while fostering a welcoming environment for all park visitors.
Anyone interested can take the survey online through May 31.
Parks and Recreation completed renovations earlier this year on a “chill out area” at the Dunkirk District Park dog park, another popular location for dog owners and their pets. There are three dog parks in Calvert County — Grays Road, Dunkirk and Cove Point. The county advises all dog owners to carefully read the rules and regulations before enjoying the county’s dog parks.
