Maryland Court case

WASHINGTON — A Great Mills man has pleaded guilty in federal court to coercing and enticing a minor following a months-long investigation into sexual abuse spanning Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Andrew Jacobson, 25, of Great Mills, Maryland, entered the guilty plea on April 29, 2026, in U.S. District Court. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2, 2026.

According to court documents, between October 2025 and January 2026, Jacobson traveled from Maryland to Washington, D.C., at least three times, where he sexually abused a minor. On a separate occasion, investigators said he lured the child to Maryland, where the abuse continued and was recorded.

Authorities said Jacobson also communicated with the minor through multiple messaging applications, where he solicited sexual activity, discussed explicit acts, and encouraged the child to engage in sexual conduct for money.

The case was investigated by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.

Prosecutors said the case was brought as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, a nationwide effort aimed at combating child exploitation and identifying victims.
