Good afternoon wrestling fans and welcome to another wonderful addition of GXW Nation, Southern Maryland’s instant pipeline to all the wrestling news happing in our town. Thank you to Sparkle Salon, Troy Hansen Law, Blue Win Gourmet and The BayNet for keeping the heartbeat going.
This past weekend St. Mary’s was visited by a living legend in SGT. Slaughter! We had a very exciting day of wrestling topped off with a surprise visit by the one the only…Mother Nature.
Here are the results:
Jeff Ryan opens up the show to tell everyone about the great comedy shows he performs at the lime lounge and encourages those that have the funny bone and need it tickled to come by and enjoy his show.
Southern Maryland’s head trainer Mr. Sonjay Dutt heads to the ring to talk to the crowd about why he is here and what great things the Southern Maryland training center is doing for the local trainees. He then introduces the 6 students that have been busting their butts for 9 months and informs them that all their hard work over the past few months has all led to today and they will be entered into the battle royal for the 1st ever GXW Maryland championship qualifier! The students go back and the music of the mysterious Bolo Yung hits.
Sonjay and bolo put on a heck of a match that had high flying and hard hitting combined to really get the fans pumped. In the end our head trainer prevailed and got the victory.
Match 2 was Jon Bolen vs DTP in a handicap match. DTP is a recently released prison gang that seems to have no rules in GXW they take what they want and say it with their chest. Nothing is safe when they are around and are constantly stealing items from others bags and rooms when they come to the building. Bolen had a tough fight but the former Football and WWE wrestler is a tough competitor and in the end the always arguing DTP got distracted while the strength of Bolen overcame and he got the 3 count to pin one of DTP
Match 3 gave us the final battle royal to determine the final 4th competitor to fight for the right to be the 1st ever GXW Maryland Championship Aug 28th at the VFW. This was a melee of men and meat as they behemoths and beasts battled for almost 20 minutes until when the smoke cleared it was the current CZW champion BLK JEEZ who earned that slot. This means aug 28th it will be Blk Jeez, Jon Bolen, Buff Bagwell and a surprise entrant to battle for the 1st ever Maryland Championship.
Match 4 was for the Respect Championship The GXW Respect champion is current Lucha Underground star Shane Strickland, the challenger was the GXW TV champion the Franchise Gordon Braswell. This was as hard hitting as it gets with both men pulling out all the stops to show southern Maryland who is the real champion in GXW. In the End Swerve did his thing and Shane got the one, two, Three on the Franchise.
Match 5 was a ladies tag team attraction. Kacee Carlise teams with Ray Lyn to face the evil and destructive combo of Amber Rodriguez and Nyla Rose. All 4 ladies showcased their skills while the fans were distracted by the beauty. With Kacee and Nyla handling the heavy work it’s hard to get a successful offensive in with such powerhouses always attacking. The years of experience they have show in the ring and you must always be ready for a fight with them. Kacee shows why she is the dominate Female in this wrestling world by winning the match for her team.
Match 6 was the 400 lb weight of the world Cory Bush as he faced a relative newcomer to GXW Tony Lowe. While Lowe was handling his own the great Mother Nature decided to make an entrance and during the match every single warning sound went off as a tornado had just touched down in Clements.
Considering Pro wrestling is a highly regulated Sport the Maryland Commish and the owner of GXW made a decision to call all the fans indoors and wait cancels the show. While we waited out the storm the fans had a one of a kind experience inside by having a great meet and greet inside with batman from the Superhero’s of Southern Maryland and SGT. Slaughter. Over 70 fans got to mingle and relax with the Sarge while sharing stories and getting pictures of them with the cobra clutch on! The fans really won out on this one. Even with the storm outside GXW made sure we sent people home happy.
We raised some good money for the Great Mills High 20 year reunion and over 100 cans of food will be donated to the local food pantry. This gets bigger and better each show
