(St. Mary’s County, MD) On April 2, 2015 at 9:55 p.m. troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to the HV Liquors, McArthur BLVD, California, MD for a reported panic alarm.
When Troopers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the store clerk. It was learned that the panic alarm was a result of an attempted robbery of the establishment.
The suspect entered the establishment brandishing a hand gun and demanding currency from the cash register. The cashier refused to comply, resulting in in the holdup alarm being activated. The suspect exited the establishment and fled from the scene.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit responded and attempted K-9 track on the suspect. Maryland State Police-Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region was contacted and investigators responded to the store to assume the investigation.
The suspect is described as an African American male; 5’6 to 5’7 very thin approximately 150-160 pounds
