At 9:45 p.m. on September 10, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Zion Baptist Church located at 8105 Annapolis Woods Road, in Welcome, for the intrusion alarm.
Officers discovered racial graffiti painted with orange spray paint as they were checking the church.
One of the side doors and the back of a brick sign located in front of the church was painted with “KKK.” The front glass doors of the church had a large circular symbol and two other undetermined symbols.
It was determined the graffiti was not there when a church representative left the building at 6:30 p.m. that day.
