Coco Bay Kitchen & Tea House in Waldorf, Maryland Temporarily Closed

WALDORF, Md. Coco Bay Kitchen & Tea House, a modern Vietnamese fusion restaurant and tea house at 3280 Crain Highway, Waldorf, MD 20603, remains closed after Charles County officials issued health and safety orders on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025.

A red “Temporarily Closed” order from the Charles County Health Department cited critical item violations, including a nonoperational ventilation hood and inadequate insect control measures. The order, signed by County Health Officer Dr. Dianna E. Abney, resulted in a summary suspension of the restaurant’s food service license in accordance with Maryland Annotated Regulations 10.15.03.

The notice declared the building unsafe for human occupancy due to infestation and ventilation process issues, warning that the business could not operate until inspections were completed. The posting specified that any unauthorized entry would be unlawful after Aug. 25, 2025, under Article 403 of the county code.
