Healthy St. Mary’s to hold Community Conversation

The Healthy St. Mary’s Partnership is holding a Community Conversation on the topic of “Access to Care.” Interested community members are welcome to attend the event that will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Lexington Park Library.

In St. Mary’s County, there is a significant shortage of primary, mental health and dental service providers. This shortage contributes to high rates of chronic disease and other barriers to wellness that are impacting the health of our community. The St. Mary’s County Health Department, MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and other Healthy St. Mary’s partners will be discussing these issues and ways in which we can work together as a community to increase access to quality health services.
