UPDATE – On Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m. deputies from the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to the 22100 block of Clipper Drive in Great Mills, for the reported shots fired. A short time later, a 911 call was received from a witness in the 21800 block of North Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park, advising a male arrived at the business with a gunshot wound.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a male victim, age 18 of Lexington Park, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was subsequently flown to an area trauma center for treatment. Detectives and crime lab personnel from the St. Maryโ€™s County Sheriffโ€™s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

GREAT MILLS, Md. — We are receiving reports of a shooting this evening that has sent one to a nearby trauma center.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on November 16, first responders were called to the scene in the area of Clipper Drive And Norris Road for reports of people hearing shots being fired.ย 

Police found several witnesses in the area who described having heard multiple shots fired and vehicles fleeing the scene.

Soon after, police were called to the 21000 block of North Shangri-La Drive, for reports of one person who had been shot. That victim was later identified as a 18-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. The patient was deemed to be alert and breathing, but still bleeding.

He would need to be transported to a nearby trauma center for additional medical attention. A helicopter from the Maryland State Police Aviation would make the transport soon after.

A suspect in the shooting has not yet been identified. There are believed to be no other injuries at this time.
