It was one foggy Christmas parade in North Beach, Saturday, Dec. 1. Despite the fog that shrouded much of Calvert County during the morning hours, hundreds of adults and children came to the bayside town for the annual promenade. The event was billed the Pat Carpenter Memorial Holiday Parade and was sponsored by the Bay Business Group. Carpenter passed away earlier this year.
The seven-block parade included antique cars, motorcycles (with Red Hat Ladies along for the ride), floats, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, local businesses, police and fire units and local elected officials. Santa Claus wrapped up the parade as he rode past the onlookers while riding the North Beach Volunteer Fire Departmentโs tower truck. Santa and Mrs. Claus were around after the parade to visit with the children.
