ย Hollywood, MD – A one-alarm house fire in St. Maryโ€™s County Sunday morning, Feb. 5 displaced the homeโ€™s sole occupant, state investigators reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโ€™s Office, the blaze resulted in $200,000 to the one-story resident on Plainview Drive in Hollywood.

โ€œThe accidental fire was the result of a fire within the chimney, which extended into the residence,โ€ a deputy state fire marshal reported. โ€œOne adult was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.โ€

The fire marshalโ€™s office identified the occupant as Mark Rentshler.

Twenty-five firefighters, led by the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, brought the fire under control in 10 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Update: 8 am. — Command is reporting occupants are accounted for and the fire is under control. Smeco, Fire Marshall and Red Cross has been contacted.

One subject is being transported to a local hospital for general precautions.
