Deputy State Fire Marshals have concluded an investigation involving the setting of a fire inside tents owned by a homeless woman in the wooded area of South Shangri La Drive in Lexington Park.
Investigators determined that Brendan Douglas Carr (29) had a verbal altercation with Jeannine Mazza who owned the tents and clothing items lost in the fire on August 3, 2012. The investigation revealed that Carr set Mazzaโs property on fire after she left the area.
Carr was arrested Yesterday without incident after he was located in the woods near the Lexington Manor Housing Development in Lexington Park. He was transported to the St.Maryโs County Detention Center where he is awaiting bond review before a District Court Commissioner. Carr was charged with 1st Degree Arson and Malicious Destruction of Property.
