Units from the Hollywood, Leonardtown and Bay District Fire Departments and the Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department responded to a one-alarm fire in Hollywood early this morning.
A passing motorist notified emergency officials that an abandoned two story, wood frame house and a wood framed barn on the same property were aflame.
It took firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control. The house and the barn were both completely destroyed, an estimated loss of $5,000.
Investigation revealed the preliminary cause of the fire to be that the properties were incendiary. If anyone has any information about these fires they are asked to call the Office of the State Fire Marshal Southern Region at (443) 550-6820.
