Dozens of firefighters from numerous departments responded to a house fire on 1915 Harvest Grove Road, Prince Frederick, shortly before midnight Feb. 25, in an unsuccessful attempt to save a home from a blaze.
Volunteers from departments including Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, North Beach, St. Leonard and Benedict gave a valiant effort in trying to save the large home from a fire that started in the garage and quickly spread to the home.
Firefighters gave an aggressive interior attack until a section of the home collapsed, and an evacuation alarm was sounded and crews performed a defensive attack from the exterior. The fire was eventually extinguished with a ladder truck from outside the home.
There were no injuries reported.
Crews stayed on the scene for more than 4 hours assisting with the extensive overhaul of the destroyed home.
