UPDATE 10 p.m.
Leonardtown, MD – A fire that broke out on property on Medleys Neck Road has temporarily displaced a St. Mary’s family, county authorities reported. The blaze was reported shortly after 9 p.m. Dispatches indicated the fire affected the house, garage and a shed. An Investigation of the fire is underway and a report is pending. The American Red Cross has offered aid to the displaced occupants. Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative has dispatched a crew to shut off the electricity.

Leonardtown, MD – At 9:10 p.m. St. Mary’s County authorities reported a fire a residence on Medleys Neck Road. A house, shed and garage are ablaze. There are unconfirmed reports of injuries. Motorists should avoid the area until further notice due to the presence of firefighters.
