Chesapeake Beach, MD – The cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed a two-story, single-family home in Chesapeake Beach Saturday night, Oct. 24 remains under investigation, state authorities reported.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze, which was discovered by the home’s occupant and reported around 8:43 p.m., originated in the garage. The house was located on Fortier Lookout in the Bayview Hills subdivision.
“The house was completely destroyed and the family is being assisted by the American Red Cross,” Dfm. John Nelson reported. No injuries were reported. A smoke alarm was present and was activated during the incident.
Fifty-five firefighters from North Beach, Dunkirk, Huntingtown, Prince Frederick and Anne Arundel County were dispatched to the scene and brought the flames under control in 30 minutes.
Nelson said anyone who might have information that could assist investigators should call the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Southern Region Office at 443-550-6833.

Chesapeake Beach, MD – According to the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, At 8:53 p.m., crews were alerted to the working fire in the 3200 block of Fortier Lookout Street in Chesapeake Beach. First arriving units found a two story single family with fire showing on the first and second floors. Company 2 crews assisted with opening up and hitting hot spots.
No injuries were reported. A full report on the incident is expected Monday, Oct. 26.
