Authorities are investigating an incident involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) parked at a residence on Greenwood Drive in Waldorf.ย According to the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal, the owner of the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban contacted police Monday, Aug. 20 around 6:37 a.m. after discovering that all four tires and rims on the vehicle had been removed and stolen.
โFurther investigation revealed that there was also an attempt to set fire to the SUV,โ stated Dfm. Don Brenneman.
Charles County Sheriffโs Department investigators contacted the fire marshalโs office and requested an investigation into the attempted arson. Brenneman said the attempted arson originated at the vehicleโs gasoline cap.
No one was injured and damage to the SUV is estimated at $2,000.
