PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A man was flown to a regional trauma center Wednesday morning after suffering serious injuries while on a tractor in a field about a mile off the road in the Prince Frederick area.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 11 a.m. Aug. 12 for a report of an injured person on a tractor.
As units responded, crews learned the patient was located roughly a mile from the roadway in a field surrounded by woods, creating a more difficult access point for rescuers.
Members of the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department, Calvert Advanced Life Support and responding EMS personnel made their way to the patient.
After evaluating the man, medics determined he had suffered serious injuries and requested a Maryland State Police helicopter to transport him to a trauma center.
Crews immobilized the patient on a longboard before safely removing him from the tractor and continuing treatment.
Maryland State Police Trooper 6 landed in a field near the scene and transported the man to a regional trauma center.
